Law Enforcement Torch Run

Two fun events to consider - June 10 and 13

Grimsby-Lincoln Special Olympics Athletes are invited to run on the Rainbow Bridge during the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics on Wednesday, June 10. (Please note, this is the same day as the school board Track Meet.) The plan is to meet at the Rainbow Bridge at Noon; then the athletes and police officers are going to run across the bridge and meet with the Americans in the middle. Something else really cool about the event is that a helicopter will capture the moment! Organizers are looking for about 20 athletes to participate in this fun event. If interested, please e-mail - Mike at mike@dogfenceontario.ca or Claire Harris claire_harris@live.ca

You can also consider participating in, volunteering at, or cheering on others at Hamilton’s first annual Hell in the Harbour Endurance Mud-Run on Saturday, June 13 at Bayfront Park! All new for 2015, Hell in the Harbour will set the stage as Hamilton’s premier endurance challenge as participants take on the 6.5km obstacle course designed to put them ‘through hell’ all in support of The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Ontario. Influenced by backbreaking military training courses, Hell in the Harbour will feature multiple obstacles that will test each participant’s physical strength, mental toughness, their will and their spirit. Hell in the Harbour will feature a ‘competitive/timed’ category to satisfy those with a competitive edge and want to see how their time stacks up against the rest and a ‘just for fun’ category for participants who want to take on each obstacle at their own pace and see what Hell in the Harbour is all about!

Hell in the Harbour proudly supports the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Ontario and will also include a post-race bash with live entertainment and plenty of great vendors to refuel with. Whether you plan on tackling the obstacles first-hand, cheering on participants as a spectator or showing your support as a volunteer, Hell in the Harbour will be an exciting event for everyone!
